If we use a combination of optical marker tracking with sensor tracking, how will the markers be placed in the environment? We decided to test to see if markers projected on LCD screens would be sufficient for recognition purposes to drive AR content. Markers on LCD screens do, indeed, work. This leads to other questions to try out such as what about if markers were projected onto a screen with a high-res LCD projector? What effect would refresh rates and flicker have on the robustness of the marker recognition? We will test these out at a later date when we're in the grad lab and have access to more equipment.

We investigated and learned the steps required to make our own marker patterns (and could even read/"see" the pictures created by the data files almost like Neo's view of the world in The Matrix--pretty wild).
